Sketch writing can seem like a whirlpool of comedic chaos. But here's the secret: there's actual a science to this. Learn actionable tools and techniques to turn your half-formed, fever dream note pad ideas into fully fleshed out sketches. Learn structures and roadmaps to wrangle messy comedy nonsense into a streamlined script. There’s a method to the madness!! 

This 6-week workshop dives deeply into the engines and mechanics of comedy writing. Premises, characters, see behind the hood and master your sketch writing with precision and plenty of fun. Lots of tools, table reads, notes, and discussions. Plenty of support and constructive criticism. More in-depth, deconstructive analysis of a fart joke than you ever thought possible.

Jeff is a sketch writing wizard who has written for NBC, Comedy Central, MTV, A&E, Warner Bros., you name it. He had his own sketch pilot for NBC and has taught sketch writing at The Groundlings, Stage 32, Occidental College, and now…YOUR ZOOM BOX!!

REQUIREMENTS: Good attitude, comedic bravery, open mind, decent internet connection. The class is a ground-up sketch writing workshop -- all levels are welcome.
